Galarian Obstagoon Deck [Fusion Strike]

Overview

Galarina Obstagoon from Fusion Strike  is the best Single Prize Dark Type Pokemon so far. It is great card for Budget Deck. Although Galarian Obstagoon is a Stage 2 Pokemon, all of its attacks requires only 1 Dark Energy and 1 of the attacks has high damage. You don't need to accelerate Energy for Galarian Obstagoon since you can manually attach 1 Dark Energy from your hand. Because it is a Stage 2 Pokemon, it has also decent HP of 170 so it might be able to withstand 2 attacks from your opponent's Pokemon.

Its main attack, Merciless Strike has 60 base damage and does extra 90 more damage if your opponent's Active Pokemon has any damage counter on it. So, Merciless Strike will have 150 damage if your opponent's Active Pokemon has at least 1 damage counter on it. Not many Pokemon can deal around 150 damage with 1 Energy.

With the Merciless Strike, Galarian Obstagoon can easily OHKO very popular Mew VMAX [Fusion Strike]. Mew VMAX has 310 HP and Darkness Weakness. If you add 1 damage counter and 300 damage from Merciless Strike, the total damage will be 310 which is just enough to knock out Mew VMAX.

The other attack, Silence is also a great attack although this attack has very low damage of 30. This attack let you disable 1 of your opponent's Active Pokemon's attacks so that your opponent's Active Pokemon can't use that attack during their next turn. Especially, if your opponent's Active Pokemon has only 1 attack, it can't do anything at all unless your opponent switch it with their Benched Pokemon. Even, if your opponent's Active Pokemon have 2 attacks, you still can disable their major attack so that your opponent's Pokemon won't be able to deal high damage during their next turn. Thus, Silence attack is definitely great for stalling your opponent.

Putting Damage Counter

You need to put at least 1 damage counter on your opponent's Active Pokemon before you use Merciless Strike. As you have already known, Galarian Obstagoon Basic Pokemon is Galarian Zigzaggon. And you can put Galarian Zigzaggon with Ability Headbutt Tantrum in your deck. This Ability let you put 1 damage counter on your opponent's Active Pokemon when you play Galarian Zigzagoon from your hand onto your Bench.

But, 10 damage counters from Headbutt Trantrum and 150 damage from Merciless Strike can't 2HKO Pokemon VMAX with 320 or more HP. In this situation, you can set up Inteleon Rapid Strike and use its Ability Quick Shooting to put 2 damage counters on your opponent Pokémon with low remaining HP. So that, you can 2HKO any Pokemon using Merciless Strike.

Since we are using Inteleon, we will also use its pre-evolution Drizzile with Ability Shady Dealings. This Ability let you set up your Stage 2 Pokemon in fewer turns as you can use this Ability to find important Trainers like Rare Candy or Evolution Incense etc.

Another Attacker

This deck also contains 1 copy of Galarian Obstagoon with Obstruct Attack. This is to counter against popular Pokemon like Zacian V and Sucine V. Because Obstruct Attack can prevent all damage done to Galarian Obstagoon by attacks from your opponent's Basic Pokemon. If your opponent's deck have only Basic Pokemon, it will be auto win for you.

Like Inteleon and Galarian Zigzaggon, you can use its Untamed Ability to put 3 damage counters on your opponent's Active Pokemon when you evolve it from your hand. 3 damage counters can also be used to knock out low remaining HP Pokemon.

Good Supporters

Piers is a perfect Suppoerter for this deck as this Supporter let you find 1 Dark Pokemon and 1 Dark Energy from your deck. All Dark Pokemon regardless of Stage and 1 Dark Energy for Merciless Strike can be found using Piers.

Bruno will be used as main draw Supporter in this deck. This is because we only run Single Prize Pokemon in this deck and they can be easiky OHKO by Pokemon V or Pokemon VMAX. When your Pokemon was knocked out during your last turn, Bruno let you shufflue your hand into your deck and draw 7 cards instead of 4 cards

Raihan let you search 1 card from your deck and attach 1 Basic Energy from your discard pile to 1 of your Pokemon. Although we don't need to accelerate Energy for this deck, getting the specific card in your hand can turn the tide in the game.
