Rayquaza V Battle Deck

Rayquaza V Battle Deck

Every Pokemon in the Rayquaza V Battle Deck can become attacker. You should start the game with Thudurus if it is in your hand since it can accelerate Energy and has high damage.

Thudurus first attack, Assisting Spark has 30 damage and let you attach 1 Lighting Energy from your hand to 1 of your Benched Pokemon. All the attackers except Rayquaza V in the deck require 3 Energy to use their high damage attacks. With Assisting Spark, you will be able to attach 3 Energy within 2 turns to 1 of those Benched attackers.

If you don't have any Lightning Energy in your hand, you can find them either using Energy Search or Gordie. Energy Search let you search 1 Basic Energy from your deck while Gordie let you look top 7 cards of your deck and put any numbers of Energy you find there into your hand. In addition, you only need 1 Lighting Energy to use Assisting Spark so this attack is definitely good for early game.

Thudurus second attack, Thunder has high damage of 130 which can OHKO most of the Basic SIngle Prize Pokemon. But, Thdurus deals 30 damage to itself after using this attack. The more you use Thunder, the lower Thundurus HP becomes.

Alternatively, you can also start the game with Electrike if you don't have Thundurus in your starting hand. This is because it's first attack, Collect let you draw an extra card every turn. Having more cards in your hand allows you to set up your strategy faster and easier.

Furthermore, when you evovle Electrike into Manectric, Manectric Ability High Speed let you draw 3 cards  Manectric can also be used as an attacker since its only attack, Electric Ball has decent damage of 100.

Although Lanturn can't accelerate Energy like Thudurus, its second attack, Electro Ball is better than Thundurus attack, Thunder. This is because for same Energy requirements as Thunder, Electro Ball has 120 damage and this attack doesn't deal any damage to Lanturn.

The other attack of Lanturn, Blinding Beam has 40 damage and can be used to stall your opponent since this attack forces your opponent to flip a coin during your opponent's next turn and if your opponent gets tail, your opponent defending Pokemon attack doesn't happen. To put it simply, your Lanturn won't take any damage if you opponent flip a tail. Then, you can knock your opponent's single prize defending Pokemon using Electro Ball during your next turn.

Simisear probably the worst attacker in this deck. It's main attack, Giga Impact has decent damage of 110 but it can't attack during your next turn. So, you can't continuously attack using Giga Impact every turn.

The only way to attack without recharging is by using Escape Rope. Using Escape Rope will cancel the recharge effect on Simisear because it switches Simisear with 1 of your chosen Benched Pokemon. You should choose Manectric as your new Active Pokemon because it has no Retreat Cost and you can switch it with Simisear again without discarding any Energy. After that, you will be able to use Giga Impact again.

One good thing about Giga Impact is that this attack requires 3 Colorless Energy. So, you can attach any type of Basic Energy [Lightning and/or Fire] to use this attack.

It is better to save both Rayquaza V and Volcanrona for the late game because their main attacks require to discard Energy cards from the respective Pokemon. Rayquaza V attack, Spiral Burst requires 1 Fire Energy and 1 Lightning Energy and has 20 base damage and does 80 more damage fro each Energy discarded from it. Since Spiral Burst let you discard up to 2 Energy from Rayquaza V, the max damage will be 180 damage. On the other hand, Volcarona attack, Fire Spin requires 2 Fire Energy and 1 Colorless Energy and has very damage of 170. But, you need to discard 2 Energy from it after using Fire Spin.

As you can see, you need to discard Energy each time you use either Spiral Burst or Fire Spin. If you keep using these attacks, you will run out of Energy sooner or later. And there is no way to recycle Energy from your discard pile in this deck. So, it is better to save both of these Pokemon for late game.

Volcanrona pre-evolution, Larvesta also has a good attack, Flame Charge. Using Flame Charge, you can accelerate 1 extra Fire Energy from your deck to Larvesta. Then, you can evolve it into Volcanrona during next turn and manually attach 1 Energy from your hand and then use Fire Spin to OHKO your opponent's Single Prize Pokemon.
