Dragapult Deck [Fusion Strike] ~ PTCG92

Overview

Dragapult Fusion Strike is a very fast attacker since you only need either 1 or 2 Energy to use its attacks. On top of that, it has -30 Fighting Resistance so it might not be OHKO by Fighting Pokemon V. Like other Dragapult from previous expansions, Dragapult Fusion Strike also has no Retreat Cost which means you can retreat it at any time.

Dragapult first attack, Fusion Assault does 30 damage times the number of your Fusion Strike Pokemon in play. Fusion Assault will deal 180 damage if you set up 6 Fusion Strike Pokemon. And it is not difficult to set up to Fusion Strike Pokemon at all because all you have to do in just simply put Fusion Strike Pokemon from your hand onto the bench. You may be surprised that you only need 1 Psychic Energy to use this awesome attack. Furthermore, this attack can be enhanced with Fusion Strike mechanics.

Although second attack of Dragapult, Speed Attack has 120 decent damage for 2 Energy, we won't be using this attack at all as we already have better option. It is more efficient to utilize 2 Energy for 2 Dragapult [1 Energy each] rather than attaching 2 Energy on single Dragapult. If you Dragapult with 2 Energy got knocked out, 1 Psychic Energy will be wasted which can be used for another Dragapult Fusion Assault attack.

Since Drakloak Fusion Strike attacks are mediocre, these attacks will not be addressed. However, Dreepy attack, Infestation is useful as this attack prevent Defending Pokemon from retreating during your opponent's next turn. So, you can use this effect to stall your opponent from attacking if their Defending Pokemon is a support Pokemon like Crobat V.

Increased Damage

Power Tablet [Item] let your Fusion Strike Pokemon deal 30 more damage. With 2 Power Tablet, you can increase Dragapult Fusion Assault damage to 240 and can KO any Pokemon V. When dealing with Pokemon VMAX, it is better not to used Power Tablet as you still have to 2HKO it whether you use Power Tablet or not and Dragapult Fusion Assault Damgae is strong enough to 2HKO it.

Fusion Strike Pokemon

To maximize Fusion Assault damage, Dragapult deck is built with only Fusion Strike Pokemon. Although quite a number of new Fusion Strike Pokemon is released, not every Fusion Strike Pokemon can enhance Dragapult. In this deck, three extra Fusion Strike Pokemon were chosen which can improve Dragapult performance.

Oricorio Fusion Strike Ability, Lesson in Zeal let your Fusion Strike Pokemon take 20 less damage and you can't apply more than 1 Lesson in Zeal. This Ability is mainly used to make Dragapult withstands 2 attacks from opponent's Pokemon with 150 damage.

Genesect V Fusion Strike basically replace Crobat V in your deck because of its Ability Fusion Strike System. This Ability let you draw cards until the total number of cards in your hand equal to the total number of your Fusion Strike Pokemon in play. On top of that, you can use this Ability more than 1 time during your turn. Since Dragapult deck runs quite a number of Items, your can always draw extra cards using Genesect V Ability to set up faster.

Gorebyss Fusion Strike Ability Rapid Strike Canceler blocks your opponent's Rapid Strike Pokemon in play. As you notice, many decks run Inteleon Rapid Strike and its Quick Shooting Ability can be detrimental to Dragapult. Another Rapid Strike Pokemon, Octillery Ability Rapid Strike Search let your opponent search Rapid Strike Energy and attach it to Rapid Strike Urshiful VMAX. And then, knock out 2 of your Dreepy before you even set up them to Dragapult. All these Abiltiy can be blocked with Rapid Strike Canceler.

Set Up Fusion Strike Pokemon

You don't really need draw Supporters in this deck as Genesect V Ability Fusion Strike System is more than enough. What you need is Supporter to set up Fusion Strike Pokemon for Dragapult Fusion Assault Attack. The new Fusion Strike Supporter, Chili & Cilian let you search 3 Fusion Strike Pokemon from your deck. This effect can be used to find any Fusion Strike Pokemon whether it is Basic, Stage 1 or Stage 2. With this effect and Rare Candy, you can easily set up Dragapult in turn 2 although it is a Stage 2 Pokemon.
