Strategies

Start with Farfetch'd as an Active Pokemon if you don't have Ponyta and Rapidash in your Hand at the start of the game. Farfech'd roles is simply to increase the chance of getting the desired cards as early as possible by using its Attack Collect which allows you to Draw 2 Cards each turn.

Farfetch'd

Rapidash is a very good Attacker in early game since its Attack doesn't cost not much Energy and its Attack Damage can easily Knock Out most of the Basic Pokemon. For these reason, it is always recommended to play Ponyta as an Active Pokemon at the start of the game if you have both Ponyta and Rapidash in your Hand ath the start of the game.

Its Attack Agility can turn the table around when your opponent thinks that he or she is going to win. This Attack has decent of Damage of 60 and it comes with powerful effect of preventing all effects of attacks if you manage to get Head from flipping a coin after using this Attack. If you get Head, your opponent can't do anything to Rapidash during his or her next turn. You can use this opportunity to not only Damage an opponent Active Pokemon but also drag the game longer to either evolve your other Main Attackers or attach require Energy to other main Attackers.

Rapidash

Once you get Nidoqueen on your Bench, your chance to win the game has been dramatically increase. Because its Ability Queen's Call allows you to search a Pokemon from your Deck and put it into your Hand. Use this Ability to evolve Chamander to Charmeleon first and then Charizard since Charizard is the strongest and best Attacker in this Theme Deck. There are two Charizards in this Deck so use Nidoqueen Ability to get them both as early as possible.

Nidoqueen is also an heavy Attacker because it Attack Power Lariat has Base Damage of 10 and does extra 50 Damage for each Evolution Pokemon on your Bench. So, the max damage you can get from this attack is 260 (10 + 50*5). But this Attack has both high Energy Cost and Condition require to get heavy damage, so it will be wise to use it in the late game.

There are two Trainer Cards that goes very well with Nidoqueen. The first one is TImer Ball which you can use to get Nidorina and Nidoqueen. As Nidoqueen has very high retreat cost, you can use other Trainer Card Switch to retreat Nidoqueen without discarding any Energy Cards from it

As stated earlier, Charizard is the best Attacker in this theme Deck and once you get it as an Active Pokemon it is very hard for you to lose the game. Firstly, its Ability Roaring Resolve allow you to attach 2 Fire Energy from the deck to it in exchange for 2 Damage Counters on it. And its Attack Continuous Blaze Ball require 2 Fire Energy to use the Attack. This means after you use its Ability you can straightaway use its Attack also. The Attack has base damage of 30 and does extra 50 Damage for each Fire Energy discarded from Charizard. So, this attack does minimum of 130 Damage (30 + 50*2) and this damage can Knock Out almost all Pokemon. If you opponent's Active Pokemon has an HP more than 130, you can attach one more Fire Energy from your Hand to Charizard to Knock Out (180 Damage) any Pokemon in Theme Deck Battle.

Don't worry about running out of Energy from using Continuous Blaze Ball since you can use Brock's Grit to recover up to 6 Fire Energy from Discard Pile to your Deck and this will allow you to use Charizard Attack Three More times which is more than enough for the whole game.

Setting up the right Pokemon onto your Bench is very important for this Theme Deck. There are two types of Trainer Cards that will help you in setting up the Bench Pokemon. The first one, Nest Ball allow you to put a Basic Pokemon from your Deck to your Bench and the other one, Pokemon Fan Club allows you to search 2 Basic Pokemon from your Deck and put them into your hand.

My recommendation is that put Nidoran and Charmader on the Bench as they are the most two crucial Pokemon in this Theme Deck.
