Strategies

This Theme Deck has quite a lot of Strong Attacker and most of them are Fire Type Pokemon. Some of them don't require large amount of Energy Cards to use strong Attack but you need to meet Specific Conditions.

It is recommended to focus on Houndoom as main Attacker in early game. Firstly, it's Attack Nasty Plot allow you to search one card from you Deck and put it in your hand. So, you can have all the required cards to set up winning strategy as early as possible.

Secondly, the other move Attack Operation has decent Damage of 50 for 2 Fire Energy Cards. Moreover, the damage from this attack can be increased to 130 if you have more cards in your Hand than your Opponent. You can use Trainer Cards to increase the number of cards in your Hand and all the relevant cards can be referred below.

There are 2 New Trainer Cards I want to mention since they are new. First one is Kahili, this Supporter Card allows you to not only draw 2 Cards but also you can put back this Trainer Card in your hand if you manage to get Head from flipping a coin after you use Kahili. The other one is Sightseer and you need to at least Discard 1 Card from you hand to use this card. This card allows you to draw cards until you have 5 Cards in your Hand.

Similar Houndoom, Entei's Attack Eruption also needs to meet specific conditions to deal massive damage. Normally, Eruption has base Damage of 80 and it comes with the effect of discard the top card of each player's Deck. If you manage to Discard Energy Cards, you will get extra 60 Damage for each Energy Card discarded. The ideal situation will be when the two Discarded Cards from both you are your Opponent are Energy Cards and the Damage will become 200 (80+60+60). However, there is no card in this Theme Deck that allows you to control the arrangement of your Opponent's Deck.

But, you still can control the arrangement of your own deck with Magcargo's Ability Smooth Over. Using this Ability, you can search any card from your Deck and put it on the top of your Deck. So, you can always put 1 Basic Energy Card on top of your Deck before you use Entei's Attack Eruption. This way you can always deal at least 140 Damage (80+60).

You can recover you Energy Cards by using Blaziken's Ability Firestarter which allow you to attach 1 Fire Energy card to any of your Benched Pokemon. This is perfect for recover all the Fire Energy Cards you discarded from using Entei's Attack Eruption. So, you can attach 2 Energy Cards for your Benched Pokemon every turn through the use of this ability.

If you don't have Fire Energy Cards in your Discard Pile to use Firestarter, you can use Shuckle Ability Fresh Squeezed to discard 3 Energy Cards from your Deck to Discard Pile. Take not that Fresh Squeezed is one time use and can only use when you put Shuckle on the Bench.

Having Blaziken on your Bench also boost the damage from Heracross. Because Heracross's Attack Powerful Firends will get extra 90 more Damage if you have any Stage 2 Pokemon on your Bench. So, the total Damage become 120 instead of 30 for just 2 Energy Cards.
