Strategies

Night Striker Theme Deck is recommended by Pokemon TCG Staff and there is a reason for it. Unlike other Theme Decks, it has many Attackers with variety of effects and all of them can become the major Attacker depending on the battle situation. Most Pokemon are Psychic Type while the rest are either Dark, Dragon or Normal Type.

Like most of the Legendary Pokemon, Cressellia come with very high HP even though it is a Basic Pokemon. In addition, its Attack Moonlight Gain not only incurs 70 Damage to opponent's Active Pokemon but also heals 20 Damage from Cressellia. So, it is always recommended to play Cressellia as your first Attacker if it is in your hand. If you don't have Cressellia in your hand, you can still use Pokemon Fan Club Supporter Card to find it and put it in your hand. It will always give you advantage to have Cressellia in early game since it's High Hp and High Attack can overwhelm most of the opponent's Basic Pokemon.

Cresselia

Wobbuffet is another alternative Pokemon to start as your first Active Pokemon when you have a bad draw. Since it has High HP and its Attack Mirror Barrier prevents all damage if you manage to flip a head, it is a great Pokemon to drag the battle while you are either waiting for the right card to get in your hand or equipping energy card to other main Attacker. However, don't use its other attack, Rolling Tackle which has only 50 Damage for 3 Basic Energy Cards. Because of its high retreat cost, it is not wise to equip energy cards to retreat instead use Switch Item Card to retreat. If you don't have Switch, it is better to let it knock out since its main purpose is to drag the battle.

Wobbuffet

Noivern, Stage 1 Pokemon with very high Attack although there is a price to pay to use this attack. Its Attack Air Slash has 120 Damage but you need to discard one Energy Card from it after using the attack. Moreover, the energy requirement is quite strict since you need to have at least one Psychic Energy and one Darkness Energy among the three Energy Cards requirement. That is where Professor Letter Item Card come in handy as it allows you to search 2 Basic Energy Cards of any type from your deck and put them in your hand

As mentioned earlier, you need to use discard energy every time you use Air Slash. There are two ways to get reserve Energy Cards in your hands, so that you can use Air Slash every turn. First way is to use its other Attack Tuning, this attack allows you to shuffle your cards in your hand and draw a number of cards equal to the number of cards in your opponent hands. You can use this attack to shuffle your hand it you don't have any energy card in your hand. Another way is to use Fisherman Trainer Card, this card allow you to put upto 4 Basic Energy Cards from your Discard Pile into your hand.

Noivern

If you have a choice, use Zorua on the bench and wait until you get Zoroark to evolve it. Otherwise, you can use Zorua Attack Moonless Madness to confuse opponent's Defending Pokemon. Zoroark is very powerful Attacker especially in late game. Its Attack Mind Jet has 10 Base Damage and can get extra 30 Damage for each of your Opponent's Benched Pokemon. If you opponent has full Benched Pokemon, the maximum damage can become 160 (10 + [30 * 5] ). On top of that, its ability Stand In allow you to switch Zoroark as Active Pokemon if it is on the bench. That is reason I want Zorua to put on the bench during early game so that you can prevent any damage to it and use Zoroark as full HP when it is right time.

Zorua Zoroark

Similar to Zorua, put Gastly on the bench so that you can use Haunter Ability efficiently. Haunter's Ability Gothic Fear allow you to confuse and poison both your Active Pokemon and your opponent Active Pokemon when you successfully evolved into Haunter from your hand. You also have an option not to use it so use this ability when you need it. Otherwise, it will unable your Active Pokemon to attack properly due to confuse effect. Also, Poison Ring Attack is very useful when you want to prevent your opponent Active Pokemon from retreating.

Haunter

As long as your opponent's Defending Pokemon has at least 3 Damage Counter on it, you can instantly knock it out using Genger's Attack Creep Show.. The other Attack Sinister Fog can be use to put 1 Damage Counter on all your opponent's Benched Pokemon in addition to poison the opponent's Defending Pokemon and you only need 1 Psychic Energy to use it. If you use Sinister Fog three times, you can basically knock out any of your opponent Pokemon with Creep Show.

 Gengar

Misdreavous Attack Haunt allows you to put 2 Damage Counter on your opponent's Active Pokemon. You can use this attack to get 4 Damage Counter within two turns so that next time Gengar uses Creep Show the opponent's Active Pokemon will be knocked out.

Misdreavus

Ursaring's Drag Off allows you to switch one of your opponent's Benched Pokemon and damage it instead of the current Active Pokemon. The damage is 50 but it can be increased to 70 with the help of Giovanni Scheme Supporter Card. There are a few instances you can use this attack when your opponent's equipping energy to Benched Pokemon while keeping current Active Pokemon to drag battle or when you only left with 1 Prize Card and there is a Benched Pokemon which can be knocked out with this attack.

Ursaring

Since there is only one card each for Zoroark and Genger, it is wise to use either Reserved Ticket item Card to get the desired Card during the next turn or use Wally Supporter Card evolve immediately. For evolving two time using Wally, you can read here.

Reserved Ticket

Use Skyla Supporter Card to get required Trainer Card or Item Card that will let you win the battle. For instance, you can use this to get Pokemon Center Lady Supporter Card when your main attacker is confused.
