Jolteon EX & Glaceon EX

Jolteon EX's Flash Ray Attack come with an effect of preventing all Damage done to it by Enemy Basic Pokemon after you use the attack. In other words, Jolteon EX is immune to all Damage from Basic Pokemon. In addition, Flash Ray also has decent Damage of 70.

Similar to Jolteon's EX, Glaceon EX's Crystal Ray Attack also has damage immune effect. The only difference is that Glaceon EX Attack prevent Damage from Evolution Pokemon. Having these two awesome Pokemon in your deck basically means that your Pokemon are immune to any attack if your opponent doesn't have Pokemon with Attack that ignore effect.

Energy Cards

Since Jolteon's EX is Electric Type and Glaceon's EX is Water Type, you need both Electric Energy and Water Energy Cards in your Deck. And you need at least either One Electric Energy or Water Energy to use theirs' Attack. Blend Energy (Special Energy) provides either Water Energy or Electric Energy depending on the Pokemon you attached. So, having Blend Energy in your deck increase your chance of getting desired Energy to carry out an AttackBlend Energy { Water }{ Lightning }{ Fighting }{ Metal }

Both Glaceon EX and Jolteon EX Attack require Dobule Colorless Energy. If you use Double Colorless Energy Card and 1 Basic Energy Card attach to them, you can use their attack during your second term.

Trainer Card

There is a chance that you might not have a right Pokemon in your hand. For example, you have Glaceon EX in your hand during your first turn but what you really need is Jolteon EX to prevent Opponent's Basic Pokemon Attack. You can use Ninja Boy (Supporter) card to overcome this kind of situation. This Supporter Card allows you to switch your current Basic Pokemon in play with another Basic Pokemon from your Deck. This is the perfect solution since both Jolteon EX and Glaceon EX are both basic Pokemon.

  1. Hi there! Nice article.
    I played Jolteon EX and Glaceon GX in a pre-SUM format with great success: I used Hoopa EX (AOR) twice in my deck to pull out Manaphy EX, Jolteon EX and Glaceon GX, then Max Potion to attach Energy and in this way I was able to pull out an attack first turn. Using Fighting Furious Belt, my Pokemon became very tanky and did an additional 10 per turn. Rough Seas even increased that tankiness and prevented 2HKOs while 2-3 hits were enough to finish off any enemy.

    1. That was excellent idea to use Hoopa EX's Ability to draw 3 EX Pokemon and Manaphy EX is there for reducing retreat cost of Glaceon GX to 0. For attaching Energy Cards I think you are referring to Max Elixir instead of Max Potion.
