Strategies

The deck is well equip with many very powerful attackers which is different from other decks that consists of only one or two heavy attackers. There are five main pokemon in this deck and three of them are heavy attackers namely Kommo-o, Gastrodon and Alolan Raichu while the rest two pokemon are more for supporting. Only up to three maximum energy is required to bring out maximum damage from these pokemon. Furthermore, it is not difficult to draw all the stage 2 Pokemon since there are two for each stage 2 pokemon which is one of the awesome advantages over other deck.

With Kommo-o, even you have out numbered pokemon, you can easily turn the table around with any two basic energy. War Cry, one of Kommo-o's attack that has based damage of 30 but that is not all. As mentioned earlier Kommo-o become very powerful when your opponent have more pokemon in play is mainly because of War Cry. Because War Cry does 90 more damage when you have lesser pokemon in play than your opponent and thus the total damage of 120 (90 + 30) just for two energy. The other attack (Clanging Scales) is not really recommended to go for since it requires one different basic energy (Fighting and Lighting Energy) and one any basic energy and your pokemon took 30 extra damage during opponent next term although the damage this attack can dead is huge (130)..




Tired of dealing with opponent pokemon with heavy attack equipped with three or more energy. If that is the case, is time for your Alolan Raichu to shine. Its attack Psychic has based damage of 70 and this attack does 20 more damage for each energy attached to your opponent defending pokemon. Usually, pokemon with high attack has at least equipped with three energy which mean Alolan Raichu Psychic attack damage can easily become at least 130 (70 + 20 * 3). Furthermore, its ability Surge Surfer allows your Alolan Raichu to retreat with no energy cost.





The last mighty pokemon is Gastrodon. Its attacks are straightfoward and has two attacks: Eerie Fluid (30 Damage + Confuse) and Earthquake (120 Damage). Take not that Earthquake does 10 damage to each of your benched pokemon. So, if you have choice, it is better to avoid putting pokemon with low health on your bench.
