Arceus VSTAR Deck [Brilliant Stars]

Overview

Arceus VSTAR has good toughness with 280 HP.  Personally, I prefer 2 Prize Pokemon [Pokemon VSTAR] with 280 HP over 3 Prize Pokemon [Pokemon VMAX] with 300+ HP. Most of the time, your opponent's Pokemon need to 2HKO either Pokemon VSTAR or Pokemon VMAX and it is better to play Pokemon VSTAR since your opponent only take 2 Prize Cards when your Pokemon VSTAR is knocked out. As expected from Colorless Pokemon, Arceus VSTAR has Fighting Weakness.

Arceus VSTAR attack, Trinity Nova is very similar to Arceus & Dialga & Palkia GX attack Unity Ray. For 3 Colorless Energy, Trinity Nova does 200 damage and let you attach 3 Basic Energy cards from your deck to your Pokemon V in anyway you like.  The problem with Trinity Nova is that this attack damage can't OHKO your opponent's Basic Pokemon V. So, you will need the help of another Pokemon V with high damage in your deck.  You can also use Trinity Nova to accelerate Energy for your other attackers in your deck.

Arceus VSTAR Power, Star Birth is an Ability Type which means you can use it without any Energy.  Star Birth is the game changing Ability since this Ability let your find up to  2 cards from your deck. And,  your turn won't end after using this Ability. You can win the game if you use it at the right card. For instance, when you are only left with 2 Prize cards, you can use this Ability to search Boss's Order from your deck and then use it to swap 1 of their Benched Pokemon V with 200 or less HP. Then, knock it out with Trinity Nova and win the game.  Note that, you are only allowed to use 1 Starbirth for the entire game so use it wisely.

In terns of Energy Acceleration, Arceus V is even better that its evolution, Arceus VSTAR. Arceus V first attack, Trinity Charge let you attach 3 basic Energy from your deck to your Pokemon V in any way you like. And, you only need 2 Colorless Energy to use that attack. The other attack, Power Edge is pure damage without any effect. This attack required 3 Colorless Energy to use and has 130 damage.

OHKO Attacker

As mentioned earlier, you can't OHKO most of  your opponent's Basic Pokemon with Arceus VSTAR Trinity Nova. This is where Rayquaza VMAX Rapid Strike comes in as another main attacker in your deck. Unlike Arceus VSTAR, Rayquaza VMAX Rapid Strike can OHKO any Pokemon by using its attack, Max Burst. This is because, Max Burst has 20 base damage and does extra 80 damage for each Energy you discarded from Rayquaza VMAX. If you can discard 4 Energy [340 damage] from it, you can OHKO any of your opponent Pokemon.

Attaching 4 Energy to Rayquaza VMAX is not a difficult task at all since you can use Trinity Nova to attach 3 Energy from your deck and 1 Energy manually from your hand. You can probably use Arceus VSTAR as an early game attacker while Rayquaza VMAX as a late game attacker. Doing so, you will be easily accelerate Energy to Rayquaza VMAX with Arceus VSTAR.

Energy Setup

Trinity Nova needs 3 Colorless Energy and it is not very effective to attach Energy manually to Arceus VSTAR for 3 turns. Even if you use Arceus V Trinity Charge to accelerate Energy itself, you can only start to attack using Trinity Nova at your third turn.

The faster way to accelerate Energy to Arceus VSTAR is by utilizing Boltund V first attack, Electrify. With the effect of Electrify, you will be able to accelerate 2 Energy to Arceus VSTAR during your first turn. After that, attach 1 Energy to Arceus VSTAR manually from your hand. Doing so, you will be able to attach 3 Energy to Arceus VSTAR within 2 turns.

Every time you use Rayquaza VMAX attack, Max Burst, you have to discard Energy from it. To get high damage from Max Burst, you need to re-attach 3 or more Energy to Rayquaza V during your turn. And, you can't keep accelerate Energy from your deck as you have limited amount of Energy. So, the best way is to re-attach Energy to Rayquaza VMAX from your discard pile. You can use Flaaffy Ability Dynamotor to accelerate 1 Lighting Energy from your discard pile to your Benched Rayquaza VMAX. With 3 Flaaffy in play, you can attach 3 Lightning Energy to Rayquaza VMAX from your discard pile.

To attack with Benched Rayquaza VMAX , your Active Pokemon need to retreat. You can equip your Active Pokemon with Air Balloon for free retreat since only Pokemon with 2 Retreat Cost are used in this deck.

Stadium

As you can see, most of the Pokemon in this deck are either Lightning Pokemon or Dragon Pokemon.  So, you can use Stormy Mountains to find 1 Basic Lightning Pokemon or Basic Dragon Pokemon during your turn. And, this will make your set up much faster.
