Overview
Shadow Rider Calyrex VMAX [320 HP] has Fighting Resistance unlike Ice Rider Calyrex VMAX which has no resistance at all. Since it is a Psychic Pokemon, it can be used to counter against popular Fighting Pokemon like Rapid Strike Urshifu VMAX. But, it will probably be OHKO when facing with Eternatus VMAX because of its Dark Weakness.
It possesses great Draw Ability, Underworld Door which allows you to draw 2 Cards if you attach 1 Psychic Energy to 1 of your Benched Pokemon. So, you can not only increase your hand size also accelerate Energy Setup by using this Ability. Because Shadow Rider Calyrex VMAX attack requires 3 Energy, you will be able to attach 3 Energy to it within 2 Turns by using its Ability.
Its attack Max Geist has 10 base damage and does 30 extra damage for each Psychic Energy attached to all your Pokemon. Bascially, the more Psychic Energy you attached to your Pokemon, the higher the damage from Max Geist. One way is to set up more Shadow Rider Calyrex VMAX so that you can use Underworld Door Ability multiple times within the same turn.
Attacker
Although Shandow Rider Calyrex VMAX can be used as main attacker, it will take quite a number of turns for it to get desired damage. On the other hand, Alcremie VMAX second attack, G-MAX Whisk has higher damage output [60 x no of Psychic Energy discard from your Pokemon] and require fewer turns to set up. Thus, you can use Alcremie VMAX to knock out your opponent's main attacker before your opponent compete their set up.
Alcremie VMAX first attack, Adornment also can be used to accelerate your Energy set up since this attacks allow you to attach 1 Psychic Energy to each of your Benched Pokemon from your deck. Doing so, this will increase both Shadow Rider Calyrex VMAX damage and Alcremie Damage.
Energy Recycler can be used to recycle 5 Energy Cards from your discard pile after you use Alcremie VMAX attack.
Energy
You can use Fog Crystal to find Basic Psychic Pokemon or Psychic Energy from your deck. In other words, it can also be used to find both Shadow Rider Clayrex V or Alcremie V and find Psychic Energy for Underworld Door Ability.
With Cressella in your deck, you should go second when game starts. This is because Cressella attack Crescent Glow allows you to attach 3 Psychic Energy to 1 of your Benched Pokemon if you go second.
Extra Turn
Having an extra turn is good for Shadow Rider Calyrex VMAX deck since there are quite a number of stuff for you to set up. You can gain extra turn by using Gengar & Mimikyu GX attack Horror House GX. Who knows you might even be able to OHKO your opponent Pokemon V or VMAX by using Poltergeist if you managed to lock a lot of Trainers in your opponent's hand.
