Ice Rider Calyrex V & Ice Rider Calyrex VMAX Deck

Overview

Ice Rider Calyrex VMAX has decent HP [320] and is weak against Metal Pokemon. Although it has Metal Weakness, its second attack [Max Lance] is strong enough to make up for its weakness. The second attack, Max Lance has 10 Base Damage and does extra 120 Damage for each Energy discarded. You can only discard up to 2 Energy which means this attack will have 250 Max Damage. This Max Damage is powerful enough to OHKO almost all Pokemon V except Wailord V. Also, you only need few turns to set up for this attack since Max Lance only requires 2 Water Energy. As long as you have a way to attach 2 Water Energy to Ice Rider Calyrex VMAX after you use the Max Lance with Max Damage, your chance of victory will be inevitable.

On the other hand, its first attack, Ride of the High King is good for dealing with opponent who set up a lot of Bench Pokemon such as Eternatus VMAX Player. Because this attack does extra 30 Damage for each of your opponent's Benched Pokemon and you only need 2 Colorless Energy to use this attack. For instance, if your opponent managed to set up 8 Bench Pokemon with Eternatus VMAX Ability, Ride of the High King attack will deal 250 Damage.

Ice Rider Calyrex VMAX only downside is its Metal Weakness. Thus, very popular Metal Polkemon like Zacian V attack is strong enough to OHKO Ice Rider Calyrex VMAX. When facing with Zacain V Player, it all depends on who can set up faster. You can probably slow down Zacain V Palyer set up by using Path to the Peak.

Energy

You can use Melony to attach 1 Water Energy from your discard pile to Ice Rider Calyrex after using its Max Lance with Max Damage. Then, attach 1 Energy from your hand to Ice Rider Calyrex VMAX. Doing so, you will be able to use Max Lance with Max Damage again.

Capacious Bucket can be used to find 2 Water Energy cards from your deck. And you can use those Energy cards to set up for Ice Rider Calyrex VMAX attacks.

Support Pokemon

Both Drizzile Ability [Shady Dealings] and Inteleon Abilty [Shady Dealings] allow you to find the Trainer Cards [1 card and 2 cards respectively] when you evolve them. By getting the specific Trainer Card, you will gain the upper hand over the game. For instance, you can use  Shady Dealing Ability to find Melony.

Scoop Up Net can be use to put Drizzile and Inteleon into your Hand. Then, you can use either Drizzile or Inteleon to evolve Sobble or Drizzile to use their respective Ability again.
