Overview
Kecleon [Rapid Strike] may seem weak on surface, but it has the potential to OHKO even VMAX Pokemon with right set up. Although it has very low HP [90], it processes very strong Ability, Chromashift which allows Kecleon [Rapid Strike] to gain extra type for each basic Energy attached to it. In other words, you will always deal double damage to your opponent's active Pokemon as long as you attach a basic Energy which is weak against your opponent's Active Pokemon.
Since its only attack, Spinning Attack has 90 Damage, you will deal 180 Damage to your opponent's active Pokemon. But, 180 damage is not strong enough to OHKO your opponent's VMAX Pokemon. This is where Rapid Strike Scroll of the Skies come in handy. This particular Pokemon Tool cand provides another attack for Kecleon [Rapid Strike] and this attack has 10 base damage and does extra 50 more damage for each Energy attached to your opponent's Active Pokemon. Most of the VMAX Pokemon require 3 Energy to use their attack which means Rapid Strike Scroll of the Skies will deal 320 damage to your opponent's VMAX Pokemon. In addition, you only need 1 Lighting Energy and 1 Colorless Energy to use Rapid Strike Scroll of the Skies.
Energy Set Up
Since you objective is to deal double damage to your opponent's Active Pokemon, you need to find a specific basic Energy that is weak against your opponent's Active Pokemon in your deck. Energy Spinner, Viridian Forest and Sonia are perfect Trainer cards to help you find specific basic Energy card. Furthermore, you can also use Sonia to set up Kecleon [Rapid Strike] or other basic Pokemon on your bench.
Sometime, you might not be able to find the specific basic Energy in your deck. So, the specific basic Energy you need in your Prize Cards instead. In this situation, you can try your luck by using Peonia to take 3 Cards from your Prize Cards and hope that you can find the card you need. Although Peonia might not work all the time, you still have 50% chance to get the card you need.
Because Rapid Strike Scroll of the Skies require 1 Lighting Energy, you can use Tapu Koko [Prims Star] Ability, Dance of the Ancients to attach 2 Lighting Energy from your discard pile to 2 Kecleon [Rapid Strike] on your bench. You can discard Lightning Energy from your hand using either Quick Ball or Viridian Forest. Or you can use Bede to attach basic Energy card from your hand to 1 of your Kecleon [Rapid Strike] on your bench. These methods will allow you to attach 2 Energy to Kecleon [Rapid Strike] within 1 turn and you can start attacking with Rapid Strike Scroll of the Skies.
Kecleon [Rapid Strike] attack requires 2 Colorless Energy, so you can use either Twin Energy or Rapid Strike Energy to provide 2 Energy. Personally, I prefer Twin Energy since you can also use it to attach non Rapid Strike Pokemon.
Recycle Energy
When your attacking Kecleon [Rapid Strike] got knock out, you can use Energy Retrieval or Klara to put specific basic Energy in your hand and attach it to next attack Kecleon [Rapid Strike]. In addition, Klara also allows you to retrieve 2 Pokemon from your discard pile.
Guarantee OHKO
If you are not satisficed with double damage from Kecleon [Rapid Strike], you can go even further. Uxie Ability, Secret Territory make 4 times Pokemon weakness instead of 2 times as long as both Mesprit and Azelf are in play. With 4 times weakness, even your Kecleon [Rapid Strike] attack, Spinning Attack will OHKO any Pokemon because its damage become 360. But, take not that putting Uxie, Mesprit and Azelf in your deck also make your deck difficult to set up.
