The most expensive card, Pikachu Illustrator (PSA 9 Graded: Mint Condition) even known in the Pokemon TCG World had sold at $195,000 on Weiss Auction (Oct 23). It is the rarest card and only 39 copies were produced

If you inspects the card carefully, you will notice that Illustrator is written instead of Trainer and it is the only card with brush symbol at the bottom right corner of the card.
Background Info
It was awarded for 3 illustration contests publicized in CoroCoro Comic's Contests. The name of the contests are Pokemon Card Game Illust Artist Contest (Oct 1997), Mewtwo's Counterattack Commemoration Illust Artist Contest (May 1998) and Pikachu's Summer Vacation Commemoration Illust Artist Contest (June 1998).
23 participants were received Pikachu Illustrator Card for either Best Award (3 Recipients) or the Excellent Award (20 Recipients) during the first contest. For the second contest, there were 1 Best Award Winner and 3 Excellent Award Winner. Each of them were also received a copy of Illustrator Card as reward also. For the last contest, 4 Excellent Award Winners were received a copy of illustrator Card.
