Empoleon (Cosmic Eclipse)

Empoleon's Attack Recall allows you to choose an attack from one of its Pre-evolutions and use it as this attack. The Attack Cost of Recall is only 1 Colorless Energy.

At first, you might thinks that this Attack is not that great since all its Pre-evolutions' Attack from previous sets  are not amazing at all. However, it is different story if we are taking about its Pre-evolutions from upcoming Cosmic Eclipse Set.

Pre-evolution Pokemon

With its Pre-evolutions from Cosmic Eclipse, Empoleon will be able to use following 2 Great Attacks just for 1 Colorless Energy.

Piplup's Attack Bubble Hold has 80 Damage and has an effect that prevents your opponent's Defending Pokemon from Attacking if it is a Basic Pokemon. Basically, your Empoleon is totally immune to your opponent's Basic Pokemon Attack. Because of this effect, you no longer need to worry about most of the TAG Team GX anymore.

Prinplup's Attack Direct Dive allows you to incur 100 Damage to one of your opponent's Benched Pokemon in exchange for discarding all Energy from it. Benched Snipe with 100 Damage for 1 Colorless Energy is very worth it and this Damage can Knock Out most of the Basic Pokemon (Non-GX or Non-EX).

Set Up

Since Empoleon is Stage 2 Pokemon, it will take a while to Set Up. Here are list of some cards that will help you set up Emopoleon faster.

Alolan Vulpix's Attack Beacon allows you to search up to 2 Pokemon from your Deck and put them into your Hand. You don't need an Energy to use Beacon Attack.

Dive Ball (Item) allows you to search 1 Water Pokemon from your Deck and put it into your Hand.

Brooklet Hill (Stadium) allows you to search a Basic Water Pokemon from your Deck and put it onto your Bench.

With this mentioned cards, finding Empoleon and its Pre-evolutions won't be hard at all.
