Description

Keep That Laser Firing!

Help Necrozma get that laser dialed in perfectly! This deck recycles Energy with Malamar’s Psychic Recharge—so you always have enough power to push the attack. Audino and Silvally provide support as you zero in on the competition with the Laser Focus theme deck!

Strategies

Start with Mesprit as Active Pokemon if it is in your Hand during the start of the game. Then, use its Attack First Contact to put 3 Basic Pokemon ( Tauros, Necrozma & Inkay ) on your Bench. Alternatively, you can also use Pokemon Fan Club to  put 2 of these Pokemon into your Hand.

The reason I recommend to put Tauros on the bench using either Mesprit Attack or Pokemon Fan Club is because it has very high HP (110) for Basic Pokemon and its Attack Berserker Tackle does 60 Damage for just 2 Colorless Energy although the Attack does 10 Damage to itself. So, it is a Perfect Early Attack and in fact you will have a huge advantage if you have Tauros and 2 Energy Cards in your Hand at the start of the game. This means you can put Tauros as an Active Pokemon instead of Mespirit and starting Knocking Out your Opponents Basic Pokemon.

Another early Attacker is Gumshoos but unlike Tauros, you need to Evolve it from Yungoos. However, its Attack Alert Headbutt has higher Damage (90) form same 2 Colorless Energy Cost.

Like most of the Legendary Pokemon, Necrozma has both High Hp and Powerful Attack and it is your Strongest Attacker in this Theme Deck. It is not really suited as Early Game Attacker cos its 2 Coloress Energy Attack Barrier Attack does only 30 Damage but it has an effect of taking 30 less Damage from your Opponent's Attack during your next turn. So, this Attack is more suitable for dragging the game when you are either finding desired Card or attaching Energy Card to your Pokemon.

The other Attack, Special Laser has Base Damage of 100 for 3 Energy Cards and the Damage can be increased to 160 if Necrozma has any Special Energy Attach to it. This increased Damage can Knock Out any Pokemon in Theme Deck Battle. But, to get this increased Damage, you need to get Weakness Guard Energy (Special Energy) in your Hand and there are only 2 of these Cards in this Deck. By the way, the Pokemon this special card attached to has no Weakness so your Necrozma won't Knock Out very easily since Necrozma also has high HP.

It is recommend to put SIlvally put on the Bench because of its Attack Avenging Heart which has 30 Base Damage and does 50 Extra Damage if your opponent takes a Prize Card during their Last Turn. So, if you use this Attack after your Active Pokemon Knocked Out, this Attack does 80 Damage for 2 Colorless Energy.

It other Attack Air Slash does heavy 120 Damage for 3 Colorless Energy but you have to discard 1 Energy from it after using the Attack. Don't worry about running out of Energy from using Air Slash because this deck contains Malamar with Ability Psychic Recharge. So, Malamar Ability allow you to attach 1 Psychic Energy from your Discard Pile to 1 of your Benched Pokemon every turn. In other words, you can transfer 1 Energy from Silvally Attack Air Slash to 1 of your next Attack if you have Malamar in play.

Mysteriious Treasure, Item Card will allow you to search 1 Psychic or Dragon Pokemon from your Deck in exchange for discarding 1 Card from your Hand. You can use this Item effect to get Malamar by discarding 1 Psychic Energy from your Hand. Doing so, not only you can evolve Malmar but also you have already 1 Psychic Energy in your Discard Pile to attach to 1 of your Benched Pokemon.

Once you have U-Turn Board in your Hand, you will always have it in play for the rest of the game. Because every time this Item Card was discarded by either Pokemon being Knocked Out or opponent's card effect, it will return to your Hand instead of going into the Discard Pile. In addition, the Retreat Cost of the Pokemon this card is attached to is 1 Less Retreat Cost.

Since the Pokemon is this Deck has either 1 or 2 Retreat Cost, their Retreat Cost become either free or 1 Retreat Cost if you attached U-Turn Board to 1 of those Pokemon. Even if your Pokemon Retreat Cost become 1 after attaching this Item Card, you can still have free Retreat Cost if you have Malmar in play. Because, you can re-attach Psychic Energy from your Discard Pile to the retreated Pokemon. You can use this strategy to keep your Main Active Pokemon from being Knocked Out while keeping that Pokemon Energy attached.

As mentioned earlier, getting Special Energy form this Theme Deck might not be very easy. You can increase your chance of getting Special Energy by using either below Support Pokemon or Trainer Cards to draw more cards. In addition, there are other Supporter Cards in this deck that allow you to draw cards such as Cynithia, Hau, Lillie and Tate & Liza.
