Overview
Lucario VSTAR is great Pokemon to counter against Pokemon V. Its attack, Fighting Knuckle has 120 base damage and does extra 120 damage if your opponent's Active Pokemon is a Pokemon V. To put it another way, Fighting Knuckle does 240 damage to Pokemon V. You need 1 Fighting Energy and 2 Colorless Energy to use this attack And, you don't need to recharge this attack like Zacian V attack Brave Blade. In fact, Lucario VSTAR Fighting Knuckle is very similar to Victini VMAX Max Victory as the only difference between these two attack is the damage.
Lucario VSTAR has an attack type VSTAR Power, Aura Star. For 1 Fighting Energy and 1 Colorless Energy, this attack deal 70 damage times total number of Energy attached to all your opponent's Pokemon. This attack is perfect for OHKO your opponent Pokmeon VMAX when your opponent's Pokemon have 5 or more Energy. The only way to counter Aura Star is not having many Energy attached to Pokemon in play. But, for most of the deck, it will be hard for your opponent to play without many Energy. After all, most of the Pokemon need Energy to attack and it takes turns to attach those Energy.
Although Lucario V first attack, Crush Punch is very low damage of 50, it has an effect of discarding Special Energy from your opponent's Active Pokemon and only 2 Colorless Energy is required to used this attack. This effect can be used to counter against decks that relies on Special Energy like Double Turbo Energy or Twin Energy. Doing so, you will slow down your opponent Energy setup. The other attack of Lucario V, Cyclone V is nothing special. It is just a simple attack with 120 damage for 1 Fighting Energy and 2 Colorless Energy.
Energy Setup
With the release of Gutsy Pixaxe Item, you can accelerate Fighting Energy to your Benched Pokemon. Basically, this Item let you reveal the top card of your deck and if it is a Fighting Energy, you can attach it to 1 of your Benched Pokemon. Else, put it into your hand. However, the chances of getting Fighting Energy to appear on top of your deck is not very high. That's why it is recommended to use Rotom Phone or Oranguru Ability Primate Wisdom before using Gutsy Pixaxe.
Rotom Phone let you look at the top 5 cards of your deck and let you put 1 of those card to on top of your deck and then, shuffle the remaining 4 cards back into your deck. So, you can put a Fighting Energy on top of your deck if it appears in the top 5 cards. After that, use Gutsy Pixaxe to accelerate that top Fighting Energy to your Benched Lucario V.
On the other hand, if you have extra Fighting Energy in your hand, you can put it back on top of your deck using Oranguru Ability Primate Wisdom as this Ability let you swap 1 card from your hand with 1 top card from your deck. Then, use Gusty Pixaxe to accelerate Energy to your Benched Lucario V.
With these methods, you will be able to attached 2 Fighting Energy to your Benched Lucario V within 1 turn.
As already mentioned, Lucario VSTAR Fighting Knuckle needs 2 Colorless Energy in addition to 1 Fighting Energy. Attaching Double Turbo Energy to Lucario VSTAR will provides 2 Colorless Energy. But, Lucario VSTAR attacks' damage will be reduced by 20. So, you might need to 2HKO of some of the Basic Pokemon V with 230 or more HP. With the combination of Gutsy Pixaxe and Double Turbo Energy, you might be able to attach 3 Energy to your Benched Lucario VSTAR within single turn and attack immediately.
Increase Damage
Double Turbo Energy reduces Fighting Knuckle damage by 20 so this attack will deal 220 damage to Pokemon V. Thus, there is a need to increase Fighting Knuckle damage as we want to OHKO most of your opponent's Baisc Pokemon V. You can increase Lucario VSTAR damage by attaching new Pokemon Tool, Choice Belt. This tool increases Lucario VSTAR damage by 30 when it attacks Pokemon V. With Choice Belt, Lucario VSTAR will deal 250 damage to Pokemon V.
Stadium
We will be using Collapsed Stadium this deck mainly because it is the new Stadium Card. This Stadium limit the number of Benched Pokemon each player can play. When Collapsed Stadium in play, each player can only play 4 Benched Pokemon instead of 5 Benched Pokemon. We don't really need 5 Benched Pokemon for Lucario Deck so this effect won't hinder our deck setup. But, it can't be same for your opponent especially when your opponent's deck relies on multiple Benched Pokemon Abilities like using Flaaffy Ability to accelerate Lightning Energy. In that case, you can disrupt your opponent's strategy using Collapsed Stadium.
