Overview
Mimikyu VMAX has lowest HP [300] among VMAX Pokemon. Although its HP is low, it has -30 damage resistance against Fighting Pokemon. Because it has Fighting Resistance and most of the Fight Pokemon has Psychic Weakness, there is no doubt that Mimikyu VMAX is great Pokemon to counter against Fighting Pokemon. Another great thing about Mimikyu VMAX is that it has fewer Retreat Cost than Mimikyu V.
Its first attack, Occult Number let you spread 4 damage counters on your opponent's Pokemon in any way you like for 2 Colorless Energy. This attack can be enhanced by using Acerola's Intuition before you use Occult Number. Doing so, you will be able to able to put 13 damage counters on your opponent's Pokemon Instead. Even though 13 damage counter can't 2HKO Pokemon VMAX, you can still use it to OHKO popular SIngle Prize Pokemon like Drizzile and Octillery etc. or knock out low HP Pokemon.
By the way, the new Supporter Acerola's Intuition let you draw a card for each Trainer you find from your opponent's hand. So, you will be using Acerola's Intuition as one of your main Draw Supporters in this deck.
The other attack of Mimikyu VMAX, Max Shadow requires 2 Psychic Energy and does 120 damage. In addition, this attack let you discard a random card from your opponent's hand. Using this effect, you can disrupt your opponent's hand especially when your opponent has very few cards left in their hand. The fewer cards your opponent left in their hand, the longer turn they need to set up their strategy.
When you play Mimikyu V from your hand and put it onto your Bench, its Ability Dummy Doll prevent any damage done to it from your opponent's Pokemon attacks until the end of your opponent's next turn. Because of this Ability, you can evolve it into Mimikyu VMAX with full HP during your next turn.
Double Damage Counters
Imagine if you can double all the damage counters done by Mimikyu VMAX Occult Number, you victory is just around the corner. This amazing idea can be achieved with Lunala attack's Lunar Pain. For 2 Colorless Energy, Luna Pain double the damage counters on each of your opponent's Pokemon. You can KO multiple Pokemon with the combo attacks from Occult Number and Lunar Pain.
Searching Acerola's Intuition
To spread 13 damage counters with Occult Number, you need to have Acerola's Intuition in your hand. This deck heavily relies on spreading a lot of damage and thus, Acerola's Intuition must be in your hand when you need it. The best way to find Acerola's Intuition in the Standard Format is by using Drizzile Ability Shady Dealing. Also, Shady Dealing Ability can be used to search important Trainers like Rare Candy or Evolution Incense from you deck. Shady Dealing will makes your set up a lot faster and easier.
Drizzile evolve form, Inteleon Rapid Strike Ability Quick Shooting can help in spreading 2 damage counters or knocking out low HP Pokemon during your each turn. With Lunar Pain, each 2 damage counters from Quick Shooting will become 4 damage counters.
Stadium
Old Cemetery is another way to put 2 damage counters on non-Psychic type Pokemon. Basically, when any player attach Energy to non-Psychic Pokemon from his or her hand, this stadium put 2 damage counters on that Pokemon.
Energy Setup
You don't need to accelerate Energy for this deck since the two main attacks : Occult Number and Lunar Pain requires only 2 Colorless Energy. In fact, you can attach new Special Energy, Double Turbo Energy to provide 2 Colorless Energy for either Mimikyu VMAX or Lunala. The downside of using Double Turbo Energy is that the Pokemon this card is attached does 20 less damage. But, this does not really concern us since both Occult Number and Lunar Pain are not damage-type attack. So, you can still spread 13 damage counters using Occult Number and double damage counters using Lunar Pain with Double Turbo Energy.
Another Draw Supporter
Other than using Marnie as a Draw Supporter, Marnie can also be used to reduce opponent's hand size to 4 cards. You can further reduce your opponent's hand size to 3 cards by using Mimikyu VMAX attack Max Shadow. With the combine effect of Marnie and Max Shadow, you opponent will only have 3 cards in their hand. Most of the times, it is very hard to continue the game with 3 cards especially when your opponents don't have Draw Supporter or Draw Pokemon in their hand. And, you probably get upset win from this.
